  • 2008-2014 Subaru WRX 4-Door models, produced from April 26th, 2007 to January 15th, 2014

What Does the Brake Lamp Switch Recall Entail?

For the above models, a brake light switch is at risk of malfunctioning due to exposure to contaminants. These contaminants can seep in through the switch housing and cause a buildup of residue on the switch contact terminal. This buildup can cause the brake lamp switch to lose conductivity, resulting in a malfunction. Depending on the model, this issue can also affect brake light illumination while driving or when starting and parking your car. With this issue, you might have an increased risk of rear-end collisions due to the vehicle's brake light not coming on when the driver starts to press the brakes.

How is This Issue Fixed and How Long Will It Take?

The brake lamp switch is the part we would be replacing, which would be installed using silicone-free grease.
