2023 Subaru Forester: Colors, Interior, Trims
If you’re looking for a reliable SUV to introduce to your family, the 2023 Subaru Forester is one vehicle to consider. This five-seater SUV has impressed drivers worldwide since its inception in 1997, and the 2023 model is coming in as impactful as ever. Below, you can read about the 2023 Forester, including its trim levels, colors, interior, technology, and safety features.
Trim Levels
The 2023 Forester, similar to its 2022 model, comes with six trim levels from which you can choose. These trim levels are the following:
- Base.
- Premium.
- Sport.
- Wilderness.
- Limited.
- Touring.
The Base trim level is a reliable SUV with notable features like the standard EyeSight driver assist technology, LED steering-responsive headlights, and the SUBARU STARLINK multimedia system. The Premium introduces a few extra features that create a more luxurious experience, including a panoramic power moonroof, a keyless access system with a start push button, and a 10-way power driver’s seat.
The Sport trim level is for a driver looking for a sharp and stylish vehicle to help them stand out on the road. It’s heavy on aesthetics, with bold exterior accents and sleek two-tone cloth seats with orange contrast stitching. This trim level also lives up to its name in driving, as it has a dual-function X-MODE with hill descent control for navigating steep terrain. This trim level also includes an SI-DRIVE engine management system to improve your driving experience based on your surrounding conditions and current preferences.
If you plan to do a lot of off-roading, you can get the Wilderness trim level. This model has a raised suspension, so it provides 9.2 inches of ground clearance instead of the 8.7 inches that come with the Base trim level. Other Wilderness trim-level features that can help you more easily explore the great outdoors include the Yokohama GEOLANDAR all-terrain tires and the 180-degree front-view monitor.
The Limited trim level builds on the Premium trim level, as it has some additional features like a power rear gate and dual-zone automatic climate control. The Touring trim level is the most expensive of the six Forester trim levels, and there are many good reasons for its higher price tag. For example, it comes with the DriverFocus distraction mitigation system, a 10-way power driver’s seat, and an eight-way power front passenger seat. You can also get features like saddle brown leather-trimmed upholstery.
Colors
The 2023 Forester is available in some gorgeous exterior colors, some of which include:
- Brilliant Bronze Metallic.
- Crystal White Pearl.
- Magnetite Gray Metallic.
- Ice Silver Metallic.
- Horizon Blue Pearl.
- Geyser Blue.
- Sapphire Blue Pearl.
- Crimson Red Pearl.
- Crystal Black Silica.
- Cascade Green Silica.
- Autumn Green Metallic.
Interior
Inside the 2023 Forester, you’ll find a welcoming interior. All models provide ample legroom; you’ll get 43.3 inches in the front row and 39.4 inches in the back row. The Base model offers the most cargo room at 28.9 cubic feet, but the other five trim levels still provide 26.9 cubic feet. If you fold down the back row, you can get up to 74.2 cubic feet of cargo space in the Base model and up to 69.1 cubic feet in the other five trim levels.
The Base trim level has a manually adjustable front seat, while the other five trim levels have a power-adjustable front seat. The heated front seats are standard in the All-Weather package for the upper five trim levels. The upper five trim levels also have a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the upper four trim levels have a leather-wrapped shifter handle.
Engine and Performance
The standard engine for all trim levels is a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER four-cylinder engine that provides 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the engine, you get a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) with adaptive control if you get the Base or Premium trim levels. The Sport, Limited, and Touring trim levels come with the same transmission and adaptive control, plus a seven-speed manual mode. If you get the Wilderness trim, it comes with a CVT with adaptive control and an eight-speed manual mode.
With all trim levels, you get the SI-Drive system that allows for different vehicle performance modes, which include Sport Mode and Intelligent Mode. All trim levels also come standard with all-wheel drive, which provides optimal traction and helps you travel over rough terrain. All 2023 Foresters — aside from the Wilderness trim — have a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds. The Wilderness trim, however, can tow up to an impressive 3,000 pounds.
The 2023 Forester also fares quite well in terms of fuel efficiency. All trim levels, excluding the Wilderness trim, get up to 33 mpg on the highway and 26 mpg on city streets. The Wilderness’ fuel efficiency drops slightly to 28 mpg on the road and 25 mpg in the city, but it’s still a reliable SUV that won’t have you making too-frequent stops at the gas station.
Technology Features
All Forester trims come with the SUBARU STARLINK multimedia system. The first three trim levels have a 6.5-inch touchscreen, while the upper three trim levels have an 8-inch screen. The Touring trim level is unique because its technology system is the SUBARU STARLINK multimedia navigation system with voice-activation capabilities.
The Base trim level has a four-speaker audio system, while the middle four trim levels have a six-speaker audio system. The Touring trim level once again shows its grandeur because it has a nine-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system, although this system is optional in the Sport, Wilderness, and Limited trims.
