2024 Subaru Impreza: Interior & Exterior Features, Trims, Price

July 13th, 2023 by

Over the last few years, Subaru has made a few changes to the Impreza, which left some longtime Impreza fans wondering when Subaru would give the compact car a complete makeover. Finally, the wait is over, as Subaru is rolling out its sixth generation Impreza for the 2024 model year. The 2024 Subaru Impreza looks, drives, and functions differently than other recent releases. Would you like to learn what the latest Impreza offers and see if it would be right for you? Keep reading to discover more.

Exterior Features

The first thing you’ll notice about the 2024 Subaru Impreza is that it’s no longer available as a sedan. Subaru has discontinued the sedan version and will only offer it as a five-door hatchback from now on. This helps make all the different 2024 Impreza trim levels look a little sportier than they might otherwise. At the same time, the 2024 Impreza has a more grown-up and sophisticated appearance than previous models. It’s something more seasoned Subaru Impreza owners may come to appreciate.

Trim Levels

While the 2024 Subaru Impreza was redesigned to help usher it into a new era, it also includes features that may cause some nostalgia. There is a top-tier RS trim that harkens back to the trim that was popular among Subaru Impreza owners in the 1990s. This trim is the most powerful of the bunch. There are a couple of other trim levels to choose from when buying a 2024 Impreza, including the Base trim and the Sport. The differences between these trims are subtle, and there’s only about $5,000 separating the Base trim from the RS trim.

Engine and Performance

If you choose to go with the Base or Sport trims when buying a 2024 Subaru Impreza, you’ll be treated to a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter flat-four engine that can produce up to 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. If you’d like to kick things up a notch, the RS trim will enable you to do it by providing you with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that can produce up to 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. Either way, all three trims have a continuously variable automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel-drive system.

Additionally, Subaru has outfitted the 2024 Impreza with a new power steering rack that will make you feel more in control when you’re behind the wheel. It also comes with a new electronic brake booster that will help you easily bring it to a complete stop. From the moment you turn it on, you’ll feel that you’re driving a different Impreza than the models you may have driven.

Fuel Economy

Unfortunately, the 2024 Subaru Impreza isn’t quite as fuel-efficient as the 2023 model was. The new model will get you about 27 miles per gallon in the city and 34 miles per gallon on the highway, down from 28 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway in 2023. However, one thing the 2024 model has going for it is that it has a larger fuel tank than the 2023 model did, so you shouldn’t have any issues getting up to 500 miles on a single tank of gas.

Interior Features

When Subaru decides to redesign the interior of one of its vehicles, the company typically tries to make it more functional instead of luxurious. That trend lives on with the 2024 Subaru Impreza. Subaru has worked on making the 2024 model much quieter in the cabin, and the new design also emphasizes making the seating more ergonomic than it was before. As a bonus, you’ll find more cargo space than previous models in the 2024 Impreza. With the rear seats folded down, you’ll access about 56 cubic feet of cargo space.

Standard Technology

The 2024 Subaru Impreza’s Base trim has a standard 7.0-inch touch-screen display. But if you upgrade to the Sport or RS trims, you’ll get an 11.6-inch touch-screen display with Subaru’s Starlink multimedia system, which can control everything inside the car. This system will also provide features such as Remote Vehicle Locator, SOS Emergency Assistance, and Stolen Vehicle Recovery Service. If you want to go all out, the RS trim will have an optional Harmon Kardon 10-speaker sound system to crank out all your favorite tunes.

Safety Features

Safety is always paramount when it comes to Subaru vehicles, and the 2024 Impreza comes equipped with many safety features. All three 2024 Impreza trims come standard with EyeSight driver-assist technology. You’ll also be able to get your hands on optional safety features such as emergency steering, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert in the higher trim levels. Subaru even went as far as to introduce several new safety-related services, such as Trip Log and Driving Journal, Remote Vehicle Configuration, and Valet Mode.

Starting Price

Affordability is another key factor that Subaru routinely keeps in mind when designing new models, and you’ll be happy to hear that the 2024 Subaru Impreza is as cost-effective as it gets. The Base trim starts at an MSRP of just $24,085, while the top-of-the-line RS trim starts at just $28,975.
